SPARK Change Luncheons: Be inspired by the knowledge shared by a panel

The SPARK Luncheon series is a knowledge-sharing initiative of masifunde’s changemaker network, launched in 2022. It currently reaches reaches 45 high schools in Mandela Bay and 200 schools nationwide in partnership with 40 CSOs and the national Department of Basic Education.

The SPARK Change Luncheons were introduced in 2023, allowing local partner NGOs to engage with experts and leaders in the non-profit and educational sectors. The luncheon features a diverse panel of experts, including a former Member of Parliament and the leader of BOSA, Mr. Mmusi Maimane, academic experts from Nelson Mandela University, and leaders in the NGO sector.

Each luncheon, attended by over 60 people, features discussions led by a panel of experts and industry leaders, guided by an experienced moderator. Attendees engage in conversations on best practices, share their learnings, and collaborate to solve challenges within their sectors. The luncheon provides a fully catered networking opportunity for attendees to connect with like-minded leaders over a warm, delicious meal.

Since the inception of SPARK Change Luncheons, these events have been held, focusing on the following topics:

Active Citizenship

School Safety and Bullying

Healthy Lifestyle with a Focus on Mental Health
